I’ve always felt lucky to be a woman of our particular generation.
We came along at the perfect time to be women – to witness the flourishing of the women’s movement, and to benefit from it personally.
The women who led the feminist movement had enormous impact and influence on all our lives.
So surely it’s no accident that our generation of women is in the forefront of another major social change – and that some of the same women are leading the charge.
Most people might not realize that it was Suzanne Braun Levine, not Gloria Steinem, who was the first editor of Ms. Magazine.
Decades later, she’s leading the way again—into what she describes as second adultood.
When I read her books, I know Suzanne is reading my mind. Only she expresses my thoughts far more articulately than I could.
More than anyone else I can think of, Suzanne is the “voice” of our generation of women. Watch her TED talk here:
Getting to know Suzanne personally is one of the treasures that have resulted from my recent involvement with WHOA!
Suzanne’s latest book, You Gotta Have Girlfriends, is on a subject very close to my heart—the importance our girlfriends play in our lives and our health.
I’ll be with Suzanne and her girlfriends to “hangout” LIVE June 11. In advance of the show, I recently did a brief interview with Suzanne; hope you will check it out below.
I also hope you will note the time and join us. I know you will appreciate what Suzanne has to say—in person and in print. And a special shout out to my own girlfriends who keep me healthy and happy every single day.
