…..even though pink is everywhere—and no one needs my reminder that October is Breast Awareness month.
Though right now pink is very visible, fighting cancer is often an invisible and lonely battle that comes in many other colors, shapes and sizes besides pink…..every month, every day of the year.
The people who understand best are those fighting the same battle—something I wish I had during my cancer journey. That’s why I always recommend a site called Mothers with Cancer, begun a few years ago by 20 mothers with cancer including Susan, another blogger with me on the American Cancer Society Advisory Panel.
When I had cancer, I also had tunnel vision— for the first year or two, I was totally inwardly focused on my own survival. To me, someone who can look outside themselves, like Susan, is heroic. I hope you’ll read her post on More Birthdays for some insight into someone who inspires her—and what simple actions can mean to the human spirit.

Wow, just spent quite a bit of time on the site you suggested and its links to other women’s blogs. Very heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time.
Found a couple of places I will definitely return to again.
Thank you!
I agree with your assessment of uplifting and heartbreaking—sometimes it’s tough to take in, but I’m glad you checked it out; you seem to be someone who really appreciates what’s out there to be found/learned in the blogosphere. And those Mothers with Cancer really do have a lot of value for all of us. Thank you so much for coming back and letting me know.
