kitchen confidential

As I said yesterday, I’m the opposite of Jane.   Although I love to feed people, I’m a total slacker—I avoid cooking whenever possible.  But even in MY house, the kitchen sees a lot of action when Daniel’s home.   It’s been used more in the last week than in the last 6 months.     His friends are always around, scouring the refrigerator and pantry for anything edible.   If it’s not moving, it’s gone.

Tonight a friend of Daniel’s is here from out of town.   He’s from Japan, and he’s been in college all year.  So even though we exclusively  usually eat takeout, I thought it’s the least we could do to give him a homecooked meal.

Turns out the guys had overlooked a few ingredients in the refrigerator and pantry.  It wasn’t the feast I had at Jane’s—but it was a really good meal, that  anyone would have been proud to serve…

…Daniel did a great job cooking it.

You are the funniest……I enjoy reading your posts everyday….and I also like not to cook, but I do….especially on the holidays so I am glad they are spread out.

  2. Thanks so much.
PS Don’t tell anyone–but when the kids help, I secretly LIKE cooking.
